Bought together and introduced by Ray Finch their friendship has endured for the past 30 years. Both were inspired by Ray, the quiet gentleman of pottery, and, though they have shared many adventures together and walked much the same path in pottery, they have none-the-less evolved into two clearly different personalities and pot makers. Dan has now specialised in wood firing and salt-glazing, in a large two chambered kiln, and works in Fredericksburg, Virginia in the USA. |
| For the last decade Dan has been the inspiration and motivating force behind creating a large arts complex housing some 40 artists and craftsmen's studios. As well as a pottery teaching school and a venue that host a major exhibition every month, and many community arts events, within the now culturally exciting town of Fredericksburg. |

Dan's love of people, pots, food and craftsmanship continue to make him Toff's closest friend and ally. Together this year they intend to illustrate the evolution of their creative craftsmanship in the true spirit of this year of Darwin (not to be confused with the Darwin Awards!) |
Throughout the day there will be a series of talks, demonstrations and displays by both Toff and Dan about their shared influences and inspirations, as well as the opening of the latest salt-kiln firing |

All this set around the backdrop of the Cotswolds in Summer, so why not bring along friends, family and food and lend a hand, or just enjoy the day with some tea and cake. |
